Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Elections Ranking Member Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) was mentioned in The Fulcrum on November 15, 2019, after the majority released a report based on the Subcommittee's efforts this Congress under Chairwoman Marcia Fudge to create a record of voter discrimination to reauthorize Section 4(b) of the Voting Rights Act.
It is of the minority’s opinion that there is no obvious reason for Section 4 reauthorization, which would require municipalities to pre-clear all election processes, such as polling locations, through the federal government. Sections 2 & 3 of the Voting Rights Act are still in effect to safeguard the public from discrimination at the ballot box.
